Our mission at Bloom Health & Wellness is to rapidly treat depression and other conditions that affect your quality of life with compassion and a highly personalized experience, coupled with our medical expertise.

Our founding doctor, Dr. Raymond Brovont, believes in providing a restorative, enjoyable patient experience that prioritizes the desired outcome.

We recognize that most patients will have been in the care of health professionals prior to visiting our clinic, and we will maintain open communication with your existing treating medical provider.

Dr. Raymond Brovont, M.D., F.A.C.E.P.

Dr. Raymond Brovont, M.D., is the Owner and Medical Director of Bloom Health and Wellness of Kansas City. He is a board-certified emergency medicine physician with twenty years of clinical experience. Originally from San Francisco, California, he graduated from the University of California at Davis, and attended medical school at George Washington University, in Washington, D.C. Following his commission as an officer of the U.S. Army, he performed his residency training at Darnall Army Hospital at Fort Hood, Texas. Dr. Brovont spent seven years serving at Winn Army Hospital, at Fort Stewart, Georgia, which included a combat deployment to Iraq. Having married a Kansas City native, after his military service Dr. Brovont and his family moved home in 2010. He has practiced clinical medicine in several large local hospitals, with a four-year stint as the emergency department Medical Director at one such large facility. He has been awarded the prestigious honor of Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians.

Dr. Brovont chose to practice emergency medicine in part because he is able to help patients of all backgrounds who are a true reflection of our diverse Kansas City community.  Having been immersed in the front line of medicine, Dr. Brovont understands that mental health challenges afflict our community members equally across the board. While maintaining his clinical practice, Dr. Brovont has opened Bloom Health and Wellness Center to provide innovative, effective treatment options to help meet our community’s mental and physical health needs.

 

Jessica Marien

Jessica Marien, J.D., M.P.H. is the Operations Manager for Bloom Health. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Bowdoin College, cum laude, a Master of Public Health from The George Washington University, and received her law degree from the University of Houston School of Law. Throughout her career, she has worked in both law and public health, most recently practicing business and family law in Kansas and Missouri.

 

Bloom Health Nursing & Affiliate Doctors

Our medical clinic prioritizes clinical excellence and safety. Our exceptional nursing staff is comprised of experienced RNs and APRNs (registered nurses and advanced practice registered nurses) who have each worked years, if not decades, in hospital emergency rooms. They are each trained in basic life support and advanced cardiac life support. Their professional, attentive nursing skills will help you feel at ease and in good hands.

Andrea Brown

Andrea Brown, RN

Andrea Brown is a Registered Nurse from Garden City, Kansas. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing and has practiced nursing for 24 years, both in Garden City and Kansas City. Ms. Brown has worked in Kansas City-area hospital emergency departments for the past eight years. She is Botox-certified.

She has two adult children, Madison (25) and Mason (22), and, due to an empty nest, 5 cats and 2 dogs. She has an amazing husband who works in law enforcement, and between law enforcement and the emergency department, both she and her husband have daily contact with individuals who struggle with mental health issues. Ms. Brown is excited to join Bloom Health and looks forward to offering another resource to those in need.

 

Donna Sosna

Donna Sosna, RN

Donna Sosna is a Registered Nurse and a true local. She spent her childhood in Mission, KS, and graduated from SM North. From an early age, she knew she wanted to be in healthcare. Donna began volunteering with Mission Fire Department in 1980 as an EMT, and at the age of 19 began working at Johnson County MedAct (where she met her future husband Dennis!). She attended JCCC and graduated first as a paramedic, followed by graduation as a Registered Nurse. Donna has practiced nursing at Overland Park Regional Hospital for 29 years, acting as the Charge Nurse in the Emergency Department for most of her career. Currently, in addition to her work at Bloom Health, Donna supervises and practices clinical nursing at the Shawnee freestanding Emergency Department for Overland Park Regional Hospital. She is also Botox-certified.

Donna has 2 children that she is very proud of, Jennifer Garcia and David Sosna, both of whom are graduates of Shawnee Mission East. She loves to go to her home at the Lake of the Ozarks, travel, and see her grandchildren. She resides in Prairie Village and is excited to be a member of Bloom Health, which she views as an important resource to the community.

Donna Sosna

Dr. Christopher Romig, M.D.

Dr. Christopher Romig M.D., is the owner, founder and medical director of Ark Integrative Medicine and Therapeutics, our partner facility in Southern California. He is a board certified anesthesiologist with 20 years of experience and more than 6 years of experience in the field of ketamine therapy.

Originally from NC, he grew up outside Seattle and then return to NC to attend Duke university for his undergraduate degree then Medical school at The George Washington University School of medicine. He completed his Residency at the University of Washington and a fellowship in cardiothoracic anesthesiology at Emory University.

Dr. Romig opened his first ketamine clinic in 2016 in Laguna Beach. It was there he saw the marked difference that ketamine makes in patients lives.

With a vision of a more holistic approach he left to create what is now Ark Integrative Medicine.

After extensive research Dr. Romig has created unique, cutting edge protocols that have much greater results than other ketamine treatments available, while also integrating additional holistic wellness treatments.

He hopes to bring about lasting changes by resetting the mind through ketamine therapy and making them more permanent through treatment centered on a holistic total body wellness approach.
